I’m super excited to continue sharing my Northern California road trip with you guys. Check out my travel guide to Carmel, Big Sur, and Monterey here. This trip of so fun and I highly recommend taking it if you haven’t yet. After exploring south of San Francisco, we decided to head north to wine country for a few days. On our way through San Fran, we swung by the airport to pick up my best friend Bri. Brandon, Bri, and I are the three musketeers for sure. I got really lucky that my husband and best friend act like brother and sister.
The three of us arrived to Napa in the late afternoon and drove around exploring. Downtown Napa was a little too commercial for my taste so we hit the loop and headed straight to the countryside. I was so much fun driving around with no plans and no directions. I loved just getting lost in the winding miles of vineyards.
When we were in Big Sur, the weather was surprising pretty chilly—in the 60s. As soon as we got to Napa the weather was HOT! I’m talking in the 90s, so I immediately reached for breezy dresses. My hair got a little crazy with the wind and high heat, so I wore fedoras almost every day.
We drove around for a while, it was time to check in and head to our dinner reservation at The Carneros Inn. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. That night we ate at one of the restaurants on the property, Farm. The three of us spilt a few bottles of wine, we ordered more food than we knew what to do with and chatted for hours to catch up. Bri lives in Omaha and is a nightshift nurse so we haven’t seen each other much over the past few months. Being with these three is truly some of my happiest time. Stay tuned for more on Sonoma, San Fran, and Sausalito.
