It was a very busy beginning to this new year, and I never really got around to thinking about what my resolutions might be. Even though I hate the world resolution, I’ll use it for lack of a better word. This weekend’s ice storm has given me a little down time to reflect on what 2016 looked like and the changes I want to make in 2017.
I’m finally at a place in my life where my resolutions or goals aren’t measured by right or wrong answers, numbers, or timelines. I want to work on the things that are actually attainable and things that I know will bring peace and joy to my life. What really sparked this post was when I saw Dormify’s Ultimate Guide to Rocking Your Resolutions. They’re simple and that’s wanted I want to do in 2017, simplify. Here are my 4 resolutions to rocks in 2017.
Read + Relax More
Dormify has the cutest coffee tables books! Looking through them has seriously made me want to find a bit more “me time” to read and relax. I picked up this Beaches book, the cutest marble candle, and aMongolian rug to create a cute little reading nook in my office.
Explore Somewhere We’ve Never Been
Looking back at 2016, we hit two of my bucket list trips: Cabo—where we got married—and a road trip along the Northern California coast. After paging through my new Beaches book by Gray Malin, I want to book a trip to at least one destination we’ve never been to—preferably a beach vacation. I can’t wait to explore more!
Live a Healthier Life
I’ve always taken the time to eat healthy and workout. 2016 was apparently an exception. After our wedding, Brandon and I worked nonstop. We didn’t take care of ourselves, we ate out way to much, and thought our physical activity on job sites was enough. Wrong! In 2017 I want to make the time to make our health a priority. That means hello home cooked meals (more to come on this) and hello gym.
Spend More Time With My Pups
Like I said in #3, Brandon and I worked our buns off in 2016. In 2017 I want to spend more time as a family and with our pups. One of my favorite moments of 2016 was when the four of us rented a cabin for the weekend. Read more about it here.
